I’m very inspired by the coastal regions of South East Queensland and Northern NSW. I’m equally inspired by the gardens, wildlife and surrounding landscape of our hinterland bush property. I use the experience of plein air painting and sketching along with photography and memories, often combining imagery from these two different types of landscapes, to create pictures that explore how we actually see and experience the world around us.
My art is an attempt to create a total synthesis of my visual sensations and lived experiences, they are emotional responses to these places tempered and informed by my keen interest in gardening, wildlife, literature and the natural world.
