We are delighted to congratulate Melissa Egan who has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Archibald Prize with her masterful painting of Charles Blackman called The Old Master, view here, and Peter Smets who has been selected as a finalist in The Sulman Prize with his amazing work Joint Effort, view here. Melissa and Peter are both very deserved finalists and we wish them both well in the final judging!! We hope that you will also get a chance to see these works whilst they are hanging at the AGNSW or traveling around the country later this year.
Peter Smets Joint Effort

I was in Sydney over the weekend ( I live in Melbourne ) and took the time to see the Sulman Prize entries whilst visiting the Archibald. I have to say I was totally entranced by the painting by Peter Smets entitled Joint Effort. Wonderful! I am an Architect so the subject was not something I could miss. I would very much like to aim at aquiring a painting in the forseeable future, particularly one of this calibre. I shall be away from Australia till the end of August so perhaps when I return I can recontact you and see what is currently available.
Many thanks.
Thank you Michael for your comments.
Peter has a new show with us in December so when you return in August some of those new works should be available to view.
